From a Teacher of International Students

I teach international students, and our enrollment has increased by leaps and bounds. According to me, the "new student" at Richland is:
...mostly oriental
    black haired
    shy, frightened
    has very limited English
    is confused
    in culture shock
    homesick
    wants to learn English very quickly
